Sally-Bennett-SchmidtSally Bennett-Schmidt has been an educator for more than 35 years, starting as a teaching assistant while in college and continuing on as a bilingual (Spanish/English) elementary teacher and a school site resource teacher with the San Diego Unified School District.

In 1992, she moved to the district office to work as a resource teacher, program evaluator, and ultimately the Director of Planning and Accountability. After 26 years with SDUSD, Sally took a position in 2003 with The Pulliam Group, which was subsequently acquired by ETS (Educational Testing Service), supporting schools and districts across the country in the areas of assessment, accountability, and data analysis. In 2007, she moved to the San Diego County Office of Education where she now serves as the Director of Assessment, supporting district and school site leaders and teachers on using data and assessment in support of student learning.

She has a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and an Ed.D. in Leadership Studies, both from the University of San Diego.
